Speech Pathology

Speech Pathology for Children and Adults

Our clinicians are committed to providing personalised evidence-based interventions for children and adults. Our speech pathologists offer therapy that is tailored to our client’s individual needs. We offer flexible programs that may include either individual or group based therapy. Our speech pathologists work with clients and families to formulate, negotiate and implement proactive strategies that achieve positive therapy outcomes.

The Speech pathology team’s combined experience includes working with children with autism, developmental delays, speech disorders and literacy development. They also have experience in working with adults in acute and rehabilitation settings; specifically language and motor speech disorders, swallowing and voice. You can find out more about our Speech Pathology team here.

Our Speech Pathologists are registered for Private Health fund rebates. A doctor’s referral is not compulsory; however, we offer services under the Medicare Chronic Disease Management Plan (formally known as the Enhance Primary Care Plan initiative). We are approved providers of the Better Start program funded by the Australian Government.

What is a Speech Pathologist?

Speech Pathologists see both adults and children with cognitive-linguistic, language, literacy, swallowing, stuttering, voice, and motor speech disorders. These disorders may occur early in life (congenital disorder or learning disability), or as a result of a stroke, cancer, brain injury, progressive neurological disease, learning disability, hearing loss, or as a result of complex and/or chronic medical conditions. Speech pathology intervention begins by screening for communication and swallowing disorders, and continues with the assessment, diagnosis and management of these disorders.
