Play therapy

Prince of Wales Private Hospital is one of the few private hospitals with play therapists. Play therapist help explain and prepare your child for what happens when they are in hospital and provide distractions and fun things to do while your child is in hospital.

Day procedures

If your child is having a day procedure they will be admitted to the Day of Surgery Suite. After surgery the first stage of recovery will be on a bed and when the child is transferred back to the Day of Surgery Suite the second stage of recovery will be in a recliner chair. During their stay we can only allow one parent to accompany them to ensure there is enough space and comfort for appropriate care of all patients – your co-operation with this is appreciated.
